The market for broadband fixed wireless is poised to take off.
Frost & Sullivan forecasts the market for worldwide wireless
local loop equipment to expand from $1.4 billion US in 2001 to $3.5
billion US in 2006 with a corresponding growth from 2.6 million
units in 2001 to 11.6 million units in 2006. [1]
Another forecast predicts worldwide broadband fixed wireless local
loop subscribers to increase from 900,000 in 2001 to 9.4 million
in 2005. [2]
Spectrum Wireless was formed to help ISPs, carriers, radio manufacturers
and rural & remote providers meet this demand for broadband fixed
wireless services by creating highly sophisticated wireless routing
solutions that combine the functions of a router, VPN and VoIP hardware
[3] and the Radio into one unit. This integration
enables a rapid and easily deployable, feature rich, low maintenance
and strong price performance broadband solution. Spectrum Wireless,
founded in 1997, is headquartered in Bellevue, WA.
